New Music for Choir

New Music for Choir

840 and the New London Chamber Choir

840 and the New London Chamber Choir join forces for an evening of bold, exploratory choral music. The programme brings together new commissions with works by influential experimental composers, including Morton Feldman and Howard Skempton, creating an experience that moves between meditative stillness, atmospheric resonance and moments of playful theatricality.

The concert invites audiences to encounter the voice as both instrument and collective organism. The result is an immersive journey into texture, harmony and presence. A rare opportunity to hear cutting-edge choral music performed by one of Europe’s leading vocal ensembles, in a venue dedicated to visionary contemporary art.

This concert has been made possible with generous support from The Hinrichsen Foundation.

840 is a London-based concert series dedicated to experimental and minimal music, curated by composers Alex Nikiporenko and Christian Drew. Since its launch in 2015, it has presented focused, exploratory concerts centred on specific instrumental combinations, showcasing new work by emerging and established composers. Praised by The Guardian and featured on BBC Radio 3, 840 has commissioned pieces that have gone on to receive international recognition.
