Douglas Dare & The London Ambient Orchestra

Douglas Dare & The London Ambient Orchestra

Iridescent vocalist and supreme songsmith Douglas Dare takes to the stage in this one of a kind performance, accompanied by the critically acclaimed London Ambient Orchestra. They will be performing Douglas's music as never heard before, fully orchestrated and featuring music by Ell Kendall.

The London Ambient Orchestra will also perform their signature improvisation based pieces in the first half of the evening.

Douglas Dare crafts intimate, cinematic music that blurs the lines between art-pop, modern classical, and electronic minimalism. With his arresting voice and evocative storytelling, the London based artist has drawn comparisons to James Blake and Anohni, yet his sound is uniquely his own - melancholic, raw, and deeply affecting.

Since his debut album Whelm (2014), released on the esteemed Erased Tapes label, Dare has captivated audiences worldwide, performing at venues from the Barbican to Berlin’s Funkhaus. His follow-up albums, Aforger (2016) and Milkteeth (2020), further showcased his ability to weave personal narratives into haunting sonic landscapes, earning widespread critical acclaim from The Guardian, Pitchfork, and BBC Radio 6 Music.

The London Ambient Orchestra is a community of artists and individuals of diverse musical backgrounds. From conservatoire trained classical musicians to self taught avant-garde street performers, brought together by a love of sound and exploration in stillness and expression.

The orchestra has gone on to numerous accolades, including stand-out sets at Wilderness Festival, sold-out shows here at Stone Nest, and gaining support of ambient music legends William Basinski and Lubomyr Melnyk.
