Doors 7.30 with DJ Elisa
Live music: 8pm Alev Lenz; 9pm Violeta Vicci
Two artists, longtime friends and collaborators are presenting their work alongside each other in this co-headline show.
Alev’s forthcoming fourth album is an ambitious 12-track project that anchors each song to a different chromatic note, offering a minimalist, harmonically rich meditation on simplicity and emotional depth.
Violeta kicks off her UK headline tour with this immersive live show, which consists of layered strings, ethereal vocals, field recordings and electronics to a backdrop of breathtaking landscape visuals.
Alev Lenz
Alev Lenz is a singer, composer, songwriter, and producer whose music defies conventional categorisation, merging sophisticated pop with ethereal vocal landscapes. Her critically acclaimed solo albums and breakout song ‘Fall Into Me’ (Black Mirror, Netflix) laid the groundwork for her upcoming fourth record: an 12-track meditation on minimalism, written around the chromatic scale. Alev has collaborated with Roomful Of Teeth, Anoushka Shankar, Jas Shaw (Simian Mobile Disco) and Volker Bertelmann, scored film & theatre productions and her work has been performed internationally at prestigious venues such as the UN, the Barbican, Kaufman Music Center, MassMoca and Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
Violeta Vicci
Rooted in natural soundscapes and highlighting the fragility of the environment, Swiss-Catalan violinist and vocalist Violeta Vicci is a multi-faceted contemporary classical and electronic artist. Hailed by the Strad as a ‘unique and imaginative performer’ she has collaborated with artists like Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Elbow, Sigur Rós, Fontaines D.C and Bat For Lashes. Her compositions, praised as ‘beautiful and powerful’ on BBC Radio3 have received extensive radio play worldwide. Violeta has opened for electronic pioneers like The Orb and System7 and performed at the Royal Albert Hall, Paris Philharmonie and Glastonbury Festival.
For her second studio album Cavaglia, Vicci took to translating a pristine Swiss valley and its surrounding lakes and glaciers, into music; and this year saw the release of Forest Music, created as an imagined journey into nature, away from the city, and into the greenness of the forest. Vicci also released Live Music in Nature, a series of live-streamed concerts performed in beautiful natural locations. She is signed to Fabrique Records and Bucks Music Group and represented by 7 Artist Management.
