4DSOUND in Residence

The Diffusion programme consists of listening sessions that feature spatial works specifically arranged for the state-of-the-art 4DSOUND system. For the live performances programme you can visit: https://www.stonenest.org/events

Aleksi Perälä

Hailing from Finland, Aleksi Perälä's career in electronic music began in the mid-80s when he discovered the wonders of acid-house. However, his real epiphany came later in 1993 when he first heard the music of Richard D. James aka Aphex Twin whilst in Michigan, USA, as an exchange student. Unsurprisingly, the influences of that master of avant-garde electronica shine through on "Project V" as Perälä takes us through his latest creations.

Rrose

Rrose is the latest incarnation of Seth Horvitz, an interdisciplinary artist from California whose 20+ year history weaves in and out of academic circles and electronic music culture. Their work is informed by ongoing interests in microtonality, the limits of perception, and the idiosyncrasies of machines.

Robert Henke

Robert Henke is one of the main creators of Ableton Live,  software which since 2001 completely redefined the performance practice of electronic music. He held teaching positions at the Berlin University of the Arts, the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA) at Stanford University, and the Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique (IRCAM) in Paris.

These works were spatialised at Monom Studios, Berlin.

Seating is unreserved. There will be a mixture of seating, cushions and standing room available - please contact us if you have any specific requirements.
